Seeking to strengthen its commitment to intellectual and industrial property rights, Bilbao Exhibition Centre is to implement further action against unfair competition at trade fairs. To that end, the organisation is currently working on a campaign to upgrade its protection of the rights of exhibitors.

The latest initiatives in this regard are closer co-operation with the relevant authorities, the signing of memorandums with manufacturers’ associations, the adding of a specific clause on the legal protection of brand names in the participation agreement, obliging signatories to commit to above-board practices, and the provision of advisory services during trade fairs.

An international information campaign will be arranged to publicise these measures and the general terms and conditions governing the relevant section, which can also be consulted at the Centre itself, where specialist lawyers will offer assistance at an information stand in the central atrium
