What was PROMA, the International Environmental Exhibition, has now become GEO2, The Sustainable Development Fair. With a new sectorised format.
Innovation and differentiation will provide GEO2 2008 with new contents, new items, higher quality and greater returns for all participating companies and institutions. It is an event which will be capable of bringing together, at the same scenario, the trade fair, business forum, technological forum, scientific forum and sustainable development forum.
The 3 pillars of sustainable development, namely environment and energy, economy and society, will become the true leading players of this inspiring new edition of GEO2 in 2008.
The purpose of the GEO2 sustainable development fair is to make a positive contribution towards promoting this idea, within the scope of companies, of public institutions and of citizens.
The event will revolve around the 3 pillars of sustainable development, namely environment and energy, economy and society. We shall continue to tackle issues such as water treatment and its efficient use, air, waste, recycling, contaminated soil, renewable energy sources, research and technology, analysis, metering, regulation and control, environmental management, noise, and many other sectors.
In the same way, GEO2 will deal with sustainable enterprises, non-governmental organisations, sustainable construction, efficient transport, ecodesign, climate change, emissions trading, civil banking, corporate social responsibility, etc. because we are convinced that CSR initiatives will help to make companies more competitive.
In a recently published study conducted by the IBM Institute for Business Value, executives from 250 companies in 10 strategic sectors, from North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East took part. In one of the study’s conclusions, the consultant George Pohle emphasises that it is crucial for companies to be up to date with the demands of their shareholders and customers, and to incorporate their CSR activities into their business strategy, because in this way they will not be considered an operating cost but rather an investment that will contribute profits.
GEO2 2008 will bring together, for 4 days and at the same scenario, the trade fair, business forum, technological forum, scientific forum and sustainable development forum.
